Overview
Magnesium Oxide (MgO) is a reactive alkaline oxide produced from selected magnesium-containing raw materials. In agricultural value chains it is used as a technical source of magnesium for fertilizers, feed premixes and other specialty products where a defined Mg content and controlled reactivity are required. The material supplied by CropMineral is intended for industrial processing rather than direct use by end users.
In crop nutrition, magnesium oxide can be incorporated into granular and blended fertilizers or used as a raw material for further processing into other magnesium salts. In animal nutrition, certain grades of magnesium oxide are used in feed premixes and supplements as a magnesium source, subject to local regulations and product registrations. The actual suitability of any MgO grade depends on factors such as particle size, reactivity, impurity profile and the overall formulation concept and must be evaluated by the customer's technical team.
CropMineral focuses on supplying consistent technical grades of magnesium oxide with specified assay, loss on ignition, bulk density and impurity limits. Magnesium oxide is alkaline and can be caustic in contact with moisture, so appropriate handling, storage and personal protective equipment are required. Users should always consult the latest technical data sheet, safety data sheet and certificate of analysis and ensure compliance with local safety, environmental and regulatory requirements before use.
